On the 27th of November the Australia-Japan Society of Western Australia is hosting The National Federation Conference.
While I realise that it is a long way to go to experience the hospitality of AJSWA, I can assure you this trip will be worth it!
On the 27th, the AJSWA will be hosting the National Federation AGM in the afternoon and later that day a Sundowner at their beautiful Japan Education and Cultural Centre of Western Australia. (JECCWA)
The following day the Conference will be held at Anzac House in downtown Perth. In the Year of the 50th Anniversary of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation the theme of the Conference is “50 Years of Impact, 50 Years of Possibility”. The conference will outline the last 50 years and look forward to the future direction for the Federation and Member Societies.
Speakers for the Conference are people who during the past 50 years have walked the walk of building the friendship and cooperation between Australia and Japan, and continue to do so. Their experience, journey and stories are not to be missed. There will also be a Youth Panel, which will address the future years of our work within the Australia Japan relationship.
On the Saturday night, the AJSWA are holding a Reception, which will feature an informal izakaya evening. Shochu and Sake will be available, as well as some deliciously fresh seafood from off the coast of WA. There are a few secret surprises at this reception, so make sure you book!
If you don’t have to travel back early on the Sunday, there are wineries within 40 mins of Perth. Also, there are some beautiful tourist spots within the city.
